Hangar 13 (2K Czech) is looking for a university student, recent graduate, or an aspiring creator passionate about game development, filmmaking, production, or audio engineering. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Motion Capture team during an exciting, high-frequency production phase! You will gain hands-on experience in a world-class studio environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Mocap schedule. Position Overview
The Motion Capture 1st Assistant Director (1st AD) is the driving force behind the schedule and flow of the mocap stage. Operating at the intersection of production, tech, and creative direction, this role is responsible for keeping shoots on track, managing the set's rhythm, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned. It offers a rare, hands-on opportunity for an organized, assertive individual to gain elite experience in AAA game development and cinematic production.
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot Preparation: Collaborate with the production and creative teams to prepare the shooting schedule and detailed shotlists ahead of production days.
- Director’s Right Hand: Actively assist the Performance Director on set, allowing them to focus entirely on the actors' performances.
- Set & Crew Direction: Lead and direct the mocap crew during active sessions to ensure everyone knows the upcoming setups and technical requirements.
- Scene Navigation: Manage the pacing of the day, efficiently navigating through scenes and ensuring the script and performance goals are met.
- Set & Prop Coordination: Oversee set changes on the volume, coordinating the placement of physical props and tracking elements with the crew.
- Cross-Team Communication: Act as the central communication hub, instantly relaying creative or technical changes to the mocap crew and the game development teams.
- Time Management: Strictly monitor the clock and shooting schedule, proactively mitigating delays and maintaining studio efficiency.
Requirements & Skills
- Current University Student (ideally focusing on Film Directing, Production, or Game Design).
- Strong leadership qualities with the confidence to direct a crew and manage a room.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills under pressure.
- Professional proficiency in English and Czech (or Slovak) for clear communication with international and local teams.
- Basic understanding of cinematic language, scripting, or animation workflows is a significant plus.
